Together, we mālama 'āina. Together, we mālama each other.

"He aliʻi ka ʻāina; he kauwā ke kanaka"

The land is chief; the people are its servants.

There's a kind of knowing that only comes from standing on the land together. At Nāʻohulelua Historical Garden, you don't just help restore a wahi kupuna (ancestral place) — you become part of its story, and it becomes part of yours.

When you volunteer, you'll tend native rare and endangered plants, care for historic grounds that include the Holy Trinity Church Ruin, and connect with neighbors who share a commitment to Kaʻū's future. No experience needed — just bring your hands and an open heart. That is enough.

Work is guided, refreshments are shared, and all ages are welcome with parental permission.

This is mālama ʻāina in action: caring for the land that feeds us, while it heals us in return.

eKomono mai — your kuleana (responsibility) awaits.

Flexible times and days ... come as you are.
